West Ham United U23s were beaten 2-1 by Crawley Town in an entertaining pre-season contest at The People's Pension Stadium on Monday evening.
The hosts started stronger in West Sussex and took a deserved lead in the tenth minute with a close-range finish from Trialist.
Chances were few and far between for Dmitri Halajko's side in the first period but the Hammers emerged from the break with a renewed purpose.
Substitute Thierry Nevers fired home the equaliser shortly after his introduction but despite creating numerous chances to claim victory, it was The Reds who eventually prevailed courtesy of a scrambled effort from Sam Ashford late-on.
