On This Day: Five-star Hammers thrash Luton

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

West Ham United swept Luton Town aside with a five-star performance in an FA Cup fourth round replay on this day in 1991.

Following a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road four days previously, the teams regrouped at the Boleyn Ground and the re-match proved to be nothing like as tight as the original - despite top-flight Luton being a division higher at the time.

Frank McAvennie, Ian Bishop and George Parris, were all on target, while Trevor Morley, who ended that campaign with 17 goals, notched twice.

West Ham would go on to reach the semi-finals of the FA Cup that season, losing out to eventual runners-up Nottingham Forest.
