Pair of Academy matches rescheduled

West Ham United U23s’ Premier League 2 game at home to Chelsea U23s has been rescheduled.

Originally due to be played this Friday evening, the fixture at Rush Green Stadium will now take place on Friday 2 April, kicking off at 4pm.

The match will see the young Hammers, last season’s winners of Premier League 2 Division 2, play host to the Division 1 champions – and current league leaders – Chelsea.

The two teams last met on the opening day of the league season at Kingsmeadow, where the young Irons produced plenty of opportunities in a largely impressive display, only to succumb to a late Dion Rankine goal on the counter-attack.

Meanwhile, West Ham U18s’ game away at Tottenham Hotspur, originally due to be played this Saturday, will now be played at 11am on Wednesday 24 March.

Please note that Academy fixtures will be played behind closed doors until further notice. Only key personnel will be admitted on site and the match will be played without supporters present, in line with government safety guidelines and social distancing measures in place as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
