On This Day: Harewood and Ashton make it seven straight wins!

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

A brace from Marlon Harewood made it a club-record equalling seven wins on the spin for West Ham United as they beat Birmingham City 3-0 on this day in 2006.

In what was a dominant performance from start to finish, the Hammers took the lead after just eleven minutes. Harewood reacted quickest to a deflected Nigel Reo-Coker strike and powered home from close range.

The forward added his second from the spot after the break, Blues defender Martin Ladka was adjudged to have handled the ball in the West Ham area.

Dean Ashton completed the rout two minutes later, the then record signing heading home from inside the 6-yard box after a whipped cross from Lionel Scaloni.
