West Ham United U18s began their U18 Premier League South campaign with a 3-1 victory over Reading U18s at Little Heath on Saturday morning.
A perfect hat-trick from stand-in front man Sonny Perkins saw Kevin Keen's side run out comfortable winners in the season opener in east London.
Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan equalised for the visitors after a thumping header from Perkins had give the young Hammers an early lead.
The youth team, however, seized the momentum after Reading drew level, with Perkins completing a memorable day with two smart finishes.
