On This Day: Kouyate and Fernandes give Chelsea the blues

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

West Ham United held off the challenge of London rivals Chelsea to reach the EFL Cup quarter-finals on this day in 2016.

A superb Cheikhou Kouyate header on eleven minutes and a long-range strike from Edimilson Fernandes strike three minutes into the second half put the Hammers in control at London Stadium.

Captain Mark Noble provided the assists for both goals.

Gary Cahill swept home from close range in injury time, but it was not enough to prevent Slaven BIlic's side reaching the last eight.
