On This Day: Noble at the double as Irons Hammer Southampton

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

Mark Noble scored twice as West Ham United thrashed Southampton 4-1 in the Premier League on this day eight years ago.

The newly-promoted pair met at the Boleyn Ground on 20 October 2012, with Noble's fortuitous free-kick bouncing in to give the Irons the lead before captain Kevin Nolan doubled the advantage.

Adam Lallana pulled one back for the Saints before Noble's penalty made it 3-1 and Modibo Maiga completed a comprehensive home victory with a long-range curler.

The victory consolidated West Ham's place in the top ten, while Southampton slipped into the bottom three, having conceded 24 goals in their opening eight matches.

Enjoy four of them again here!
