Yarmolenko features for Ukraine in France

Andriy Yarmolenko goes for a header against France

Andriy Yarmolenko earned his 89th cap for Ukraine as his country took on France in Paris on Wednesday night.

The West Ham United forward played 62 minutes in the Stade de France friendly match.

Ukraine trailed 4-1 when Yarmolenko left the action, and the visitors' difficult night continued as France added three late goals.

Yarmolenko and his teammates will hope for better from the remainder of the international break, as they play UEFA Nations League games against Germany and Spain over the next week.

Elsewhere in Wednesday's international friendly action, Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal were both unused substitutes as Czech Republic defeated Cyprus 2-1.

Lukasz Fabianski, in Poland's 5-1 win over Finland, and Angelo Ogbonna, in Italy's 6-0 victory over Moldova, also watched on from the bench.

All three will hope to be in action as their nations also tackle two UEFA Nations League fixtures over the next seven days.
