On This Day: Allen and Moncur shoot down Chelsea

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

West Ham United scored a 2-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on this day in 1994.

The Hammers were struggling in the early weeks of the 1994/95 season, but went ahead eight minutes after half-time through Martin Allen's diving header.

Chelsea levelled nine minutes later through Paul Furlong, but the Irons would not be denied all three points as John Moncur scored what turned out to be the winner within 60 seconds.

Future West Ham assistant manager Steve Clarke was sent-off with five minutes to play and Harry Redknapp's side safely saw out time to climb out of the bottom four into 15th place.
