On This Day: Trevor Sinclair goal sees off Liverpool

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

Trevor Sinclair was West Ham United's hero as Harry Redknapp's Hammers beat Liverpool on this day in 1999.

The England winger scored the only goal of the game as the Irons defeated Gérard Houllier's Reds 1-0 in the Premier League at the Boleyn Ground.

Steve Lomas popped up on the left flank and crossed for Paolo Di Canio to hit a first time shot which Liverpool goalkeeper Sander Westerveld could only parry. The ball fell to Sinclair six yards out and he bundled home.

West Ham's win took them up to eighth in the table on their way to a fifth-place finish.
