On This Day: Slater and Dicks goals help West Ham down Middlesbrough

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...

West Ham United defeated Middlesbrough 2-0 in the old First Division on this day in 1989!

Kevin Keen was the provider for the opener, skipping past two challenges before playing an inch-perfect through ball for Stuart Slater, who timed his run superbly before rounding goalkeeper Kevin Poole and prodding into the unguarded net.

Liam Brady then lofted a diagonal ball for Martin Allen to head into the path of George Parris, who was bundled over inside the penalty area. Dicks stepped up and smashed the spot-kick hard and high into the net.
