On This Day: Ryan Fredericks' blast completes West Ham's 2018/19 home campaign with a win

West Ham United signed off the 2018/19 season at London Stadium in style with a 3-0 Premier League win over Southampton on this day a year ago.

The Hammers continued their strong finish to the campaign with a deserved victory over the Saints, and the winning margin could have been wider had it not been for the heroics of goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

Marko Arnautovic put Manuel Pellegrini's side in front on 16 minutes before doubling West Ham's advantage 21 minutes from full-time.

Ryan Fredericks made the three points safe on 72 minutes with a superb finish after playing a one-two with Jack Wilshere.

West Ham would go on to win at Watford on the final day of the season to secure a top-ten finish.
