On This Day: Diafra Sakho late show sees off Sunderland

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with Basset & Gold...

Diafra Sakho's 88th-minute goal secured a welcome Premier League win for West Ham United on this day in 2015.

Dick Advocaat's Sunderland were the Senegalese striker's victims as he latched onto Mark Noble's lofted pass and drilled the ball past Black Cats goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon.

The victory lifted Sam Allardyce's side back up to ninth in the table, although they would slip back down to finish the campaign in 12th place, having been fourth at Christmas.

Basset & Gold are West Ham United's official sleeve sponsor and eSports partner. Their mission is to challenge the market and create investment opportunities that are easy to understand, transparent and continuously control risk, while maintaining market-leading returns that meet investment goals. Click here to find out more.
