Pablo Fornals: I want to continue playing well for our fans

Pablo Fornals celebrates with Jarrod Bowen

Pablo Fornals believes West Ham United can use last Saturday's victory over Southampton as a springboard for the closing stretch of the 2019/20 Premier League season.

The Hammers hauled themselves out of the bottom three with that 3-1 success against the Saints, with Fornals to the fore as he produced assists for Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio.

The popular Spanish midfielder has registered five assists and two goals since the 1-0 win at Chelsea in late November, becoming a fans' favourite for his technical ability and non-stop work-rate.

Now, as David Moyes' men prepare for a London derby at Arsenal this weekend, the 24-year-old has called on the Hammers to produce the same level of dynamic attacking play in their final ten games.

We are in a good moment and I am absolutely convinced we can get a result at Arsenal

"It was a big win, a massive win, but it's not the last game [of the season]," he said. "We have a lot of matches remaining and we need to keep going to reach our goals.

"I'm feeling good and we want to be successful for our fans - I just want to continue playing well for them. It was fun to play in Saturday's game. We are a great team when we are playing well and we can create a lot."

Fornals grabbed one of his five assists when he set up Angelo Ogbonna to score in the reverse fixture with Arsenal in December, only for the Gunners to come from a goal down to win 3-1 at London Stadium.

However, he believes West Ham are in a better place as they prepare to take on their north London rivals again, having produced good performances in each of their previous two matches - a narrow defeat at Liverpool and the welcome win over Southampton.

"We are in a good moment and I am absolutely convinced that we can get a result at Arsenal," he confirmed.
