Water company Aqua British, official partner of West Ham United women, have announced a new offer for Hammers fans, allowing them to make an environmentally friendly choice when buying their bottled water, and in doing so save themselves money, and help local good causes.

That’s because Aqua British will donate 1p to the West Ham United Foundation for every bottle of water sold through their site using the offer code AB2020, over the next three months, with an added bonus of a 25% discount for everyone using the code, on top of the 15% online discount already on offer.

With the Environment now being a key strand of that project, we wanted to do something that would give back to the local community around East London and Essex and supporting the Foundation is a great way to do that

The Herefordshire-sourced spring water business is a game-changer for the bottled water market as 100% of the packaging, including the cap and label, is biodegradable, meaning its business model is built with the environment at its heart.

West Ham United is also committed to reducing our environmental impact and is working with London Stadium to ensure the home of the Hammers is a sustainable venue, with zero waste going to landfill.

Aqua British Chief Executive Officer Harshit Mishra said: “Through our partnership with West Ham United, we have seen first-hand the great work that the Club and the Foundation do through their community outreach programmes and the Players’ Project. With the Environment now being a key strand of that project, we wanted to do something that would give back to the local community around East London and Essex and supporting the Foundation is a great way to do that.

“Due to the lockdown in place across the UK, with fewer people travelling, there has been a positive impact on the environment with lower emissions which has been widely reported in the media. This understanding of the impact of human activity is something that Aqua British is keen to harness and plastic waste is a huge area of focus. We think that because our bottles are 100% biodegradable, we’re playing our part, but we know there is more to do which is why we also help to plant trees across the world and finance biowaste bins across the UK.”

Joe Lyons, Chief Executive of the West Ham United Foundation, added; “We are delighted that Aqua British have chosen to support us in this way. It is fantastic to see Club partners understanding how West Ham United supports the local community and being inspired to throw their weight behind our work too.

“Our community outreach directly supports tens of thousands of individuals across East London and Essex each year, helping to combat huge issues such as poverty, loneliness, health and wellbeing and equality, and uses the power of football to help our societies continually improve.”

Aqua British is a high-quality English spring water, sourced from the Berrington spring, located on protected land in the heart of Herefordshire in the West Midlands.

Since its establishment, Aqua British Water has dedicated its time and resource to continuous research and development to deliver the latest generation of bottles that reduce environmental impact.

Aqua British is not only an international leader in the field of sustainable packaging as part of its normal business activities but also goes one step further to take on even more social responsibility.

Aqua British pledges to spend every four pennies from the price of every sold bottle of Aqua British on planting trees with One Tree Planted, donating to charities such as Mayor’s Fund For London, West Ham United Foundation and The Felix Project to fight against hunger, besides financing biowaste bins across the United Kingdom.
