On This Day: Cheikhou Kouyate's wonder-goal stuns Manchester United

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with Basset & Gold..

Cheikhou Kouyate scored a number of important goals during his four seasons with West Ham United, but few were as spectacular as the one he thumped past David de Gea on 8 February 2015.

Sam Allardyce's Hammers welcomed the Senegal midfielder back from the Africa Cup of Nations and the No8 celebrated the occasion with a wondrous individual goal four minutes after half-time.

After Manchester United had failed to clear Mark Noble's free-kick, Kouyate juggled the ball twice with his back to goal before slamming a volley past De Gea on the turn, via a deflection off Daley Blind.

Unfortunately, the visitors snatched a point when the Dutchman scored a late equaliser, but Kouyate's goal was one all in the 34,499 Boleyn Ground crowd would never forget.
