West Ham U23s head to Pride Park for Premier League International Cup quarter final

West Ham United U23s Premier League International Cup quarter final match away to Derby County U23s will take place at Pride Park on Tuesday 10 March at 7pm.

Last month the young Hammers confirmed their spot in the knock-out stages of the tournament for the first time in their history.

The U23s qualified as one of the two highest-ranked second-placed teams, having won two of their three group games prior to the new year, and with other results going in their favour this week.

Dmitri Halajko’s side began their Premier League International Cup campaign with a 1-0 victory against Valencia 'B' courtesy of a first-half Nathan Holland strike. A narrow 3-2 defeat followed in West Ham’s second group game against VFL Wolfsburg II in Winston Reid’s return to action.

In their final group game, the development squad gave themselves every chance of securing qualification with superb 3-1 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion U23s with Holland, Alfie Lewis and Anthony Scully finding the net.

Quarter-final opposition Derby County finished top of Group F after winning all three of their matches, overcoming Monaco II, Jong Feyenoord and Southampton U23s to seal their place in the next round.
