On This Day: Mark Noble nets first West Ham penalty in Birmingham win
Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with RoadX Tyres...
Mark Noble was on the spot for the first time in his West Ham United career as the Irons scored a 1-0 Premier League win at Birmingham City on this day in 2007.
The midfielder, then just 20, stepped up to beat Colin Doyle from 12 yards after the Blues goalkeeper had fouled Craig Bellamy, scoring the first penalty of his Claret and Blue career.
Noble had earlier hit the post with a free-kick at a rain-soaked St Andrews, where Bobby Zamora, Bellamy and Kieron Dyer had also threatened for Alan Curbishley's side.
West Ham would go on to finish tenth in the table with 49 points, while Noble has gone on to become the Hammers' regular penalty-taker, netting 38 of the 42 spot-kicks he has taken over the last 13 years!
