International round-up: Masuaku's DR Congo earn qualifier draw

Arthur Masuaku in action for DR Congo

Arthur Masuaku's DR Congo continued their qualifying campaign for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations with a 2-2 draw in The Gambia on Monday evening.

The West Ham United defender started to earn his seventh senior cap for The Leopards as they were twice pegged back in Bakau.

DR Congo now sit third in Group D, having drawn both their opening games. The qualifiers for the final tournament, which will take place in Cameroon, resume in August 2020.

Elsewhere in Monday's internationals, Hammers youngster Goncalo Cardoso captained Portugal U20 in a 2-0 friendly defeat to their Germany counterparts.

Albian Ajeti was an unused substitute as Switzerland, already assured of their place in the finals, rounded off their UEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers with a 6-1 win in Gibraltar.

Finally, Josh Cullen was on the bench as Republic of Ireland drew 1-1 with Denmark in the same Group D. The result means they will need to advance through a play-off in March to reach next summer's finals.
