On This Day: Hughes and Miklosko deny Manchester United Premier League title

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with Basset & Gold....

West Ham United had nothing to play for but pride when Alex Ferguson's title-chasing Manchester United arrived at the Boleyn Ground on the final day of the 1994/95 season.

The mid-table Hammers were expected to lose to the Red Devils, who needed a victory, combined with a Blackburn Rovers defeat at Liverpool, to leapfrog the Lancashire side and claim top spot.

However, Michael Hughes' goal and Ludek Miklosko's outstanding display between the sticks saw the Irons snatch a 1-1 draw and deny Fergie's men their third consecutive Premier League trophy.
