Brianna Visalli is eager to thank West Ham United fans for their support with three points against Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday.

Matt Beard’s Irons will close the 2018/19 campaign with this weekend’s home match with the Seagulls, with sixth place up for grabs for the Hammers if they can take the win.

These three points puts us into the top six, if we get them, and it will be incredible if we can get it.

Visalli believes beating Brighton in front of the home supporters on Saturday is the perfect way to sign off the season and end what she feels has been a good first year in the FA Women’s Super League for the Irons.

“Everyone is so motivated to get the last three points and end the season well,” Visalli said. “We set out to do the impossible this year. These three points puts us into the top six, if we get them, and it will be incredible if we can get it.

“No one is already on holiday – I can promise fans of that. We want to end with a win.”

The midfielder, who has scored five goals this season in all competitions, says it is in the team’s very soul to give everything for the right result and, while Brighton will prove to be tough opponents, Visalli knows the importance of finishing the year with a victory.

She added: “I think this season, overall, has been quite successful for us. It’s our first season as a professional club and it’s a year that’s been riddled with injuries and unforeseen circumstances, as are liable to happen in football. But everyone has done a really class job at making this season the best it could be.

“This weekend against Brighton, we’re looking to have another really good result. That’s the DNA and character we have in this team. We want to end this season on a high.”
