Fabianski: We feel good at home

Lukasz Fabianski says West Ham United are confident of continuing their impressive home run when they face Everton at London Stadium on Saturday.

The Hammers welcome the Toffees to east London having gone unbeaten on their own patch so far in 2019 and defeating the likes of Arsenal, Newcastle, Fulham and Huddersfield.

The Poland goalkeeper enjoyed a successful international period, with his country beginning their UEFA Euro 2020 qualifying campaign with two victories, and now he is focused on helping the Hammers to three more vital points.

“It’s a great start for us when it comes to the national team with the two wins, especially the first one away from home at Austria, which I think is the biggest game of the group,” he said. “So to be able to win over there and start the qualifiers like that is very important.

“Now I’m back with the team here and we want to finish the season strongly. We have another home game and the home form has been good for us recently, so hopefully that will continue.”

Last time out the Hammers edged a dramatic seven-goal encounter with Huddersfield Town and while that match provided plenty of excitement, Fabianksi would prefer a victory with a clean sheet this time around.

He added: “Maybe the fans would like to see it more often, but as a player you want to have a bit more control of the game, but it’s all about the win.

“If we get the three points everyone will be happy, the team, the staff, the manager and the fans. It’s all about the three points.

“We are going into the stage of the season where we are playing teams going for something or are around us, so that’s another challenge. Obviously we want to keep pushing and get as much as we can from the rest of the season.”
