Chicharito named in Mexico squad

Chicharito

Chicharito has been called up to the Mexico squad for international friendlies against Chile and Paraguay this month.

The West Ham United striker will be aiming to add to his 105 caps and 50 goals in Mexico's colours - a goal tally that already gives him the title of his country's top goalscorer.

New Mexico head coach Tata Martino names Chicharito in his first squad since taking the reins, giving the Hammers' No17 his first return to the international stage since last summer's World Cup in Russia.

There, Chicharito scored once in four games as his country reached the last 16 stage.

Mexico will first take on Chile in San Diego, USA, on Friday 22 March, before remaining in California to take on Paraguay at Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, on Tuesday 26 March.
