West Ham United capture France international Kenza Dali

West Ham United are delighted to announce the signing of French international Kenza Dali from Dijon FCO.

The 27-year-old becomes the women’s fourth acquisition of the summer and will wear the No21 shirt for the Irons.

“I am really excited to sign for West Ham United,” Dali told whufc.com. “It feels really good and it means so much to me to be here.

“Everyone in the world knows West Ham United. West Ham is a big club and a big challenge in a tough league. I’m really happy to be here.”

“Kenza’s qualities are known globally in the game and I’m sure she will prove to be a resounding success for West Ham United.”

Born in Sainte-Colombe in north-central France in 1991, Dali spent the formative years of her career with Olympique Lyon, making one appearance for the reigning Champions League holders before departing to join Rodez in 2010.

Following a successful season with Les Rafettes, in which Dali scored three goals in 24 showings, the attacking-midfielder was signed by Paris Saint-Germain. The new Hammers star would spend five seasons with PSG, scoring 44 goals in 123 competitive showings – including a career based 14 in 27 games in the 2014/15 campaign.

A brief return to Lyon followed for Dali before signing for Dijon last summer. The midfielder scored six goals in 21 appearances, helping the side to secure an eighth-place finish in Division 1 Feminine.

At international level, Dali has made 22 appearances for France, having made her debut in a 2015 World Cup qualifier against Hungary. The Irons’ latest acquisition has scored four international goals, opening her tally with a strike against Brazil in late 2014.

Dali’s efforts for France were rewarded with a place in the national team squad for the 2015 Women’s World Cup, helping her team to reach the quarter-finals of the competition.

Everyone at West Ham United would like to welcome Kenza to the Club and wish her every success in Claret and Blue.
