Hammers stars attend Rich Energy Haas F1 livery unveiling

West Ham United women’s stars Claire Rafferty, Adriana Leon and Becky Spencer were the illustrious guests of Rich Energy at the launch of Haas F1’s new livery.

The Official Energy Drink of the Hammers women’s team struck a deal with The Haas Formula 1 team last year, with the side formally renamed the Rich Energy Haas F1 team.

In celebration of the relationship between West Ham United and Rich Energy, Rafferty, Leon and Spencer were invited, alongside managing director Jack Sullivan, to attend the unveiling of the new Haas Formula 1 livery.

The stylish VF-18 features a sleek, black design with gold detailing across the front wing, nose and engine cover in recognition of Rich Energy’s recognisable colour scheme.

What West Ham are doing in women’s football is very innovative, and I like to think we’re trying to do the same in the energy drink business, and now in Formula 1.

William Storey

“We’re really grateful that William has invited us to this event,” Spencer said: “It’s obviously really different for us, as footballers, to be invited to events like this. It’s been really nice.

“The car looks amazing and it’s be great to get to know other people as well and see what they do. It’s been a good day.”

Rich Energy CEO William Storey is delighted that West Ham women’s Official Energy Drink has entered the world of Formula 1, and hopes to welcome as many Irons players and supporters as possible to future races.

Storey said: “We’ve been working hard for a long time, but we feel that we’ve got the best product and brand in the marketplace and getting into Formula 1 is the pinnacle for that. We’ve worked very, very hard to get here. This is almost day one of chapter two for the business

“Obviously, we’re extremely proud of the link with the West Ham United women’s team, who were one of our earliest partners. I’ve been a fan of West Ham for about 38 years. What they are doing in women’s sport is very innovative, and I like to think we’re trying to do the same in the energy drink business, and now in Formula 1.

“I hope to see a lot of West Ham players as our VIP guests at the races!”

Defender Claire Rafferty is a fan of Formula 1 and is excited to see how Rich Energy fare in their first season with Haas.

“I quite enjoy [Formula 1],” the No11 revealed. “My dad used to watch it and always had it on, so I know a little bit about it. It’s been really interesting to be here, talking about Formula 1, and also looking at what has gone into today.

“Rich Energy are doing a great job of getting their name out there, and I know they will have invested a lot of money into the Haas F1 team. We’re really grateful to have them involved with us as well.”
