Highlights: West Ham U18s 3-3 Charlton Athletic U18s (4-5 on pens)

West Ham United were beaten in a penalty shootout by London rivals Charlton Athletic despite going ahead on three occasions during normal time in the FA Youth Cup on Friday night.

The Hammers looked to have booked their place in the fourth round of the competition for the first time since 2011/12 when they nudged themselves ahead for the third time with less than a quarter of an hour of the 90 minutes remaining.

However the battling Addicks struck back with two minutes left of the clock to take the game to extra-time and eventually penalties.

The visitors' nerves cracked first when Hammers stopper Krisztian Hegyi saved from Charlton's second spot-kick, however Kevin Keen's men also missed their second and eventually their sixth as the south east Londoners booked their place in the fourth round proper.
