On This Day: West Ham secure 1,000th League win at Millwall

Taking a look back at a classic West Ham United moment on this day in history, in association with Basset & Gold....

West Ham United secured the 1,000th win in their Football League history with a 1-0 First Division victory at Millwall on this day in 1988.

Academy of Football graduate and future England captain Paul Ince was the Hammers’ match-winner, netting the only goal of the game in front of 20,105 supporters at The Den, converting after Alan Dickens had forced Lions goalkeeper Brian Horne to spill the ball.

Enjoy the 21-year-old midfielder’s moment again here.
