Chicharito named in Mexico squad for September friendlies

Chicharito

Chicharito has been recalled to the Mexico international team that will take on the United States and Argentina during the September friendlies.

The striker was absent from the Mexico squad that played at, and won, the Gold Cup this summer due to the birth of his first child, but the 31-year-old will return to the national team fold next week.

El Tri will take on the Americans on Friday 6 September at MetLife Stadium in a friendly repeat of the Gold Cup final, which Mexico won thanks to Jonathan Dos Santos' finish.

Two days later, Chicharito and his teammates will travel to the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, for the friendly with Argentina.

The Hammers No9 has scored 51 international goals in 108 appearances for Mexico, with his most recent goal being netted in a 4-2 victory against Paraguay in March.
