West Ham United fans were delighted to meet summer additions Pablo Fornals, Albian Ajeti and David Martin at the club store at the Liberty Shopping Centre in Romford.

The trio posed for pictures, signed autographs and chatted to supporters throughout the afternoon as 300 Hammers fans queued to meet the new signings.

The store signing on Wednesday was the second-part of a summer holidays double-header that saw Sebastien Haller and Roberto travel to the Lakeside store last week.

Before the arrival of Fornals, Ajeti and Martin, the queue looped around the store, and David Martin was thrilled to take part in the session just minutes from where he grew up.

“It was great to come and meet the West Ham supporters this afternoon." said Martin. "This is obviously where I grew up in Romford, I lived five minutes from where we are now so to be here now is a bit surreal, at a big club like West Ham it’s great to be a part of.

It’s a dream come true when you get to do store signings and other things like this

"It’s a dream come true when you get to do store signings and other things like this, I’ll probably see people that I know and it’s amazing to be associated with the club that I grew up supporting, it’s really a great feeling.”

The signing in Romford had a special significance for Martin and the goalkeeper is relishing each day at his boyhood club.

“I’ve definitely felt the connection with the West Ham supporters since I joined, going on away-trips and seeing the players in front of me and the managers in front of me and we’re driving past the end of my road, it’s a crazy feeling but I am loving it.”

Spanish midfielder Pablo Fornals was also really excited to meet Irons fans, the 23-year-old praised the warm welcome he has received in east London since his summer arrival.

“Since I have joined, I have really felt the connection between West Ham and the fans, and they are here in every game for not only me but also the team.

"It was really nice to come and see the fans today, and I hope that we were able to create some nice moments for them this afternoon.”

Deadline-day signing Albian Ajeti also spoke about how important events like these are that allow supporters the chance to spend time with players.

“I really couldn't wait to meet the fans this afternoon, I want to make them proud and I really enjoy it when I see them, and am able to meet them.”
