The Wolves cast get into character with help from Foundation coach

The cast of a play set to appear at Stratford East Theatre have been getting into character thanks to the help of a West Ham United Foundation coach.

David Green, a development officer for the Foundation, spent two weeks working with actresses from The Wolves, which tells the story of an all-female school football team as they try to maintain an unbeaten run while dealing with the challenges of growing up.

The play has already won the American Playwriting Foundation’s inaugural Relentless Award, and was a finalist for the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and Green was delighted to help the cast tell their story.

"My time with the Wolves has been incredible," the development officer told whufc.com. "From the very start, their passion and determination to become better footballers was inspiring for women to be proud of!

"They improved every week and they became addicted to the sports. It was an amazing opportunity  for me personally as a coach and I was thrilled to be involved."

The Wolves is set to open on Wednesday 24 October, and can be seen at Stratford East Theatre until Saturday 17 November. Tickets are available here, and you can see the trailer in the video player above.
