Fabianski's Poland edged out by Portugal in Nations League

Lukasz Fabianski's Poland were edged out 3-2 by Portugal in their UEFA Nations League clash on Thursday evening.

The West Ham United goalkeeper played the 90 minutes to earn his 48th international cap in the League A Group 3 fixture.

Poland took an early lead in Chorzow through Krzysztof Piatek, but Portugal struck back with goals by Andre Silva and Bernardo Silva, sandwiching a Kamil Glik own goal.

Jakub Błaszczykowski replied with 13 minutes to go, but Poland could not find a leveller and now have one point from their opening two Nations League fixtures.

Elsewhere on Thursday, Ajibola Alese started as England U18 defeated Sweden 4-0 in a friendly at St George's Park, while Nathan Trott and Joseph Anang were unused substitutes in victories for England U20 and U19 over Italy and Portugal respectively.
