Any Old Irons members Steve Maynard, Josephine Roberts and Don Adams shared stories of the late, great Bobby Moore on the 25th anniversary of the West Ham United legend's passing.
Lifelong Hammers Steve, 69, Josephine, 78, and Don, 68, sat down for an emotional chat at the East Ham Working Men's Club in Upton Park, where they reminisced over a player and a man who made not only them, but every West Ham fan proud.
Run by West Ham United Foundation in conjunction with the Premier League, the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) and Friends of the Elderly, Any Old Irons is part of the Football Friends programme.
The initiative gives participants the opportunity to connect with other fans and locals in their community, bringing them together for fun and friendship. Those attending can also learn how to stay in touch with their fellow fans and the Club using digital technology.
The scheme is hosted at East Ham Working Men’s Club and is open to anyone over the age of 65. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-reserved basis – those interested in attending should call Friends of the Elderly on 0330 332 1110.
