West Ham Academy set for first coaching masterclass

Official Coaching Association

The first of the Official Coaching Association sessions will be taking place on Monday 15 January and there is plenty to look forward to at the evening at Chadwell Heath.

Official Coaching Association
The Association has been set up by the West Ham United Academy of Football to provide opportunities for grassroots level coaches to learn from some of the best and most experienced staff in the Hammers set up and the professional game.

And the first night will give local coaches the chance to do just that with both Paul Konchesky and Matt Upson attending as guests.

The pair – who have well over 1,000 senior appearances between them and more than 200 for West Ham United – will kick-off the evening with a Question and Answer session.

Both former Hammers have made the step into coaching since ending their professional footballing careers and the Academy has benefitted from their experience over the last six months.

And at the first Official Coaching Association evening, coaches will be able to pick the duo’s brains about making the step from grassroots to the Premier League and now into coaching.

After the Question and Answer session, attendees will get an insight into the structure of a West Ham United Academy training session before putting that insight into practical observation in the shape of the U15s’ training.

The evening on Monday 15 January begins at 6pm. To book your place on the session, click here or to book a place on all four of the Coaching Association’s sessions at Chadwell Heath, click here.
