Fulham goalscorers thrilled with four-game winning run

Robert Snodgrass and Michail Antonio were both delighted to play their part in securing a fourth consecutive Premier League win for West Ham United in Saturday’s 2-0 victory away to Fulham.

A fantastic strike from Snodgrass – his second goal in two games – was followed by an Antonio finish 12 minutes later, securing the Hammers another victory, pushing the Irons up to ninth in the table.

Snodgrass believes he and Antonio made the most of their first-half chances to put the Irons in front, hailing the whole team performance.

“In the first half, when you only get a few chances against a Fulham side scrapping for points, you’ve got to take them,” Snodgrass told BT Sport.  “We did that with two good finishes – myself and Michail with a great finish.

It was a great team performance and four wins on the bounce is always good!

“I’m delighted for Michail because he’s had to take his chance when he gets it. It was a great team performance and four wins on the bounce is always good!”

The Scotsman’s thoughts were echoed by Antonio, who praised manager Manuel Pellegrini for the squad he has assembled and the work done on the team.

The No30 said: “The boss has put a great team together. He’s brought in some great players and, at the beginning of the season we struggled, with four losses on the bounce. But now we’re starting to gel and things are going well for us. Hopefully the run can keep going!

“Fulham came out and threw everything at us, but we’ve managed to keep a clean sheet. We didn’t have as much attacking threat in the second half so we had to make sure we didn’t concede. We kept it easy, we kept playing and saw out the game.”

Snodgrass expressed his delight at scoring again for the Hammers, taking his tally to two goals and three assists in the last four Premier League matches.

The No11 continued: “It’s good to contribute and try to help the lads up front, and get some assists and goals. I’ve been lacking in that department a bit since the start of the season, so to contribute and be winning as a part of this team is great.

“You’ve got to take each game as it comes. There’s great competition in this league this year, so we’ll take it one game at a time and enjoy the moment.”
