West Ham United eSports player Jamboo signs new deal

West Ham United are delighted to confirm that their eSports player Jamie 'Jamboo' Rigden has signed a new 12-month contract to represent the Club at FIFA 19.

Jamboo has featured in competitive FIFA gaming for the Hammers since joining their eSports team in April last year.

Having competed in Claret & Blue in the FIFA Interactive Club World Cup, eFootball League, eDugout Cup and the recent FUT Champions Cup in Bucharest, Jamboo is looking forward to taking that on for the rest of the 2018/19 season on Xbox.

"I'm delighted to sign another 12-month deal to represent West Ham for the FIFA 19 season," he said.

"I can't wait to get going and build on what we've done over the last year-and-a-half together!"

West Ham have been a leader in UK eSports ever since becoming the first British football club to sign a FIFA player back in May 2016.

Since then, the club have been represented at a string of top competitive FIFA events, and recently hosted its first eSports tournament open to the general public - the West Ham United eSports Cup powered by Basset & Gold.

More than 1,000 players registered for the tournament which culminated in a live Grand Final at London Stadium, which saw AS Roma's Damiehulk collect the £10,000 top prize.
