Snodgrass: Back-to-back wins are always good

Robert Snodgrass says West Ham United are full of confidence after Tuesday’s 3-1 win against Cardiff City sealed the Hammers first back-to-back Premier League wins since January 2017.

The midfielder played a key role in the win under the lights at London Stadium, with two assists, and believes that Manuel Pellegrini’s side are feeing positive ahead of Saturday’s derby against Crystal Palace.

Snodgrass provided a pass for Lucas Perez’s opener before curling in the corner for Michail Antonio’s first Premier League goal since March.

“When you get back-to-back wins in the Premier League it's always good,” said the Scot, who now has seven assists in all competitions this season.

"You know how much it means to the players getting back-to-back wins and we can't wait for the Crystal Palace game - we want to try and drive forward to get three wins on the bounce. Winning breeds confidence.”

I have just tried to do my best and do my job for the team the best I can and if I'm getting assists and goals that's great but it's about points

The Scotland international, who left the pitch on 76 minutes to a standing ovation from the Claret and Blue Army after his instrumental contribution, credited his teammates and Pellegrini for the Hammers uplift in form.

"I have just tried to do my best and do my job for the team the best I can and if I'm getting assists and goals that's great but it's about points,” he insisted.

"The fans need to see the work we are doing behind the scenes because we are working hard, the manager works us really hard so it’s great for him to start seeing the rewards as well and all that hard work leading to three points.

"We have a great squad here. I don’t want to get too carried away but it feels good to get back-to-back wins. We are driving forward to try and get in the top half of that table and try and mix it with the big boys.”
