West Ham United's U23s were beaten 6-4 in a bizarre Premier League 2 clash on Sunday as they hosted their first fixture of the 2018/19 season.
The Hammers – who played for almost an hour with ten men after Tunji Akinola's sending off – scored through Xande Silva, Josh Cullen, Alfie Lewis and Oladapo Afolayan.
But City, who scored though Nabil Touaizi-Zoubdi's hat-trick as well as goals from Benjamin Garre and Rabbi Matondo, ultimately proved too strong and snuffed out two of the Hammers' late goals with quick replies.
