Chicharito backs Pellegrini’s process to bring success

Chicharito believes West Ham United can flourish under the guidance of manager Manuel Pellegrini, starting this weekend with a win over Bournemouth.

Pellegrini will take charge of the Hammers for the first time at London Stadium on Saturday when the Cherries visit, and is looking to secure his first Premier League victory as Irons boss after an opening day defeat to Liverpool.

Chicharito admits that Sunday’s match with the Reds was a tough game but is backing the team to bounce back versus Bournemouth, thanks to the process Pellegrini is installing at West Ham.

“Liverpool was a very hard match,” The Mexican international told whufc.com. “When you get beat 4-0 in the very first match of the season, it’s very tough. But, as the manager said, this is a process.

As the manager said, this is a process...Hopefully, against Bournemouth, we can show progress and we can take the three points.

“I know fans would like immediate success and we are doing everything we can. It’s in our own hands. We need to adapt, like with the new players coming in, and to the new system that the manager wants us to play. Hopefully, against Bournemouth, we can show progress and we can take the three points.”

The 30-year-old came on at Anfield on 62 minutes as West Ham tried to find a way back into the game, and Chicharito is eager to help the Irons to a positive result this weekend.

“I hope to be involved,” he continued. “I hope to be on the pitch so I can help my teammates.

“Like I always say, that’s the manager’s decision. I will always try to do my best and keep training hard. I will keep improving and keep getting fitter, so I can help the team as best as I can.”

The striker has also praised the fantastic support from West Ham fans, and is ready to play in front of a full London Stadium on Saturday.

Chicharito is looking to repay the Claret and Blue following with a first three points of the campaign.

Chicharito added: “The West Ham fans are great. I’m desperate to play in front of them again and we have a big, big chance to take three points against a very good team.

“Bournemouth got a very good result in their last game and it will be tough, but it will be nice to be back in London Stadium and hopefully we can take the win.”
