Team news: Hammers unchanged for trip to Arsenal

West Ham United boss David Moyes has named an unchanged starting XI and substitutes’ bench for Sunday afternoon’s trip to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in the Premier League.

Andy Carroll came off the bench on Monday to earn the Hammers a late point against Stoke City, but Marko Arnautovic remains the manager’s chosen striker to lead the line in north London.

Joe Hart starts between the sticks – as he did in the Carabao Cup quarter-final at the same venue back in December – with a back-five of Pablo Zabaleta, Declan Rice, Angelo Ogbonna, Aaron Cresswell and Arthur Masuaku in front of him.

In midfield, captain Mark Noble starts alongside Cheikhou Kouyate, with Joao Mario and Edimilson Fernandes, who has impressed since his return from injury earlier this month, looking to support Austrian Arnautovic – the Hammers’ most advanced player.

Carroll, who has five career goals against the Gunners which includes a memorable hat-trick at the Boleyn Ground back in 2016, will be joined by Chicharito and Jordan Hugill on the bench as West Ham’s firepower to potentially introduce.

Manuel Lanzini, who made his return from injury as a sub on Monday, will also be keen to get further minutes this afternoon, while Patrice Evra, Josh Cullen and goalkeeper Adrian make up the rest of the matchday squad.
