A stunning free-kick from captain Marcus Browne proved to be the difference as West Ham United U23s beat Manchester City 1-0.
The 20-year-old stepped up with just ten minutes left in the first half to power home the set-piece, which struck the woodwork and found the back of the net.
Prior to the goal, Nathan Holland also came close to scoring, hitting the post early in the match.
However, it wasn't all West Ham's way, as Manchester City's quality proved to be a real threat going forward. Goalkeeper Nathan Trott was forced into a number of top saves to ensure the three points travelled back with the side to London.
