Goals from Angelo Ogbonna, Diafra Sakho and Arthur Masuaku were enough for West Ham United to beat Bolton Wanders 3-0 and secure passage into the Carabao Cup Fourth Round.
The opening finish came just four minutes into the match as Ogbonna headed in a great effort from a set-piece.
Sakho also found the net after some excellent work from Marko Arnautovic, with the winger providing two assists on his London Stadium debut for the Hammers.
Masuaku secured the victory for the Hammers with a beautiful effort from distance in second-half stoppage time.
A professional win for the Premier League team was capped with first team debuts for Sead Haksabanovic and Nathan Holland, who started the match and came off the bench respectively.
It was the perfect start for the home side with Ogbonna’s opening goal coming in just the fourth minute. From an Arnautovic free-kick the Italian defender powered home a header after being left unmarked in the Bolton box.
That lead could have been extended before the ten-minute mark as Arnautovic had a shot saved and another free-kick go just wide, before the winger also attempted a chipped effort which went over the cross-bar.
Sakho claimed the Hammers’ second just after half an hour when Arnautovic again brilliantly created space and put the ball on a plate for the striker to slot his second goal in as many Carabao Cup contests.
Ayew also saw a shot narrowly skip wide and find the side netting after good work in what was a dominate 45 minutes for the home side against Bolton, whose only chance came in the form of headed effort straight at Adrian.
The second half saw the introduction of Holland for his first team debut, with the young winger coming on just after the hour mark in place of the side’s other debutant, Haksabanovic.
Chicharito was also introduced for the Irons, replacing goal-scorer Sakho, with the Mexican’s movement continuing to cause the away side issues throughout the remainder of the fixture.
Having outplayed the Championship team in the first period, chances were fewer for West Ham in the second half but the victory was secured brilliantly by left-back Masuaku, who struck a perfect effort from distance in the final minute of the match.
West Ham will find out their Fourth-Round opponents on Wednesday evening.
