With the opening of the summer transfer window rapidly approaching, the number of stories linking West Ham United with reinforcements can only be expected to grow over the coming weeks and months.

With that in mind, Sky Sports are among a number of outlets to claim West Ham are interested in signing Kelechi Iheanacho from Man City on a permanent transfer this summer. The media speculate the Nigeria forward could be available for £20m, with similar speculative stories also appearing in the Evening Standard, The Sun and Daily Mail.

Another forward linked with a summer switch to east London is Winston Reid's New Zealand international colleague Chris Wood, who has enjoyed an outstanding season in the Championship with Leeds United. This speculation appears in the Daily Mirror.

Thirdly and finally, former Hammer Jermain Defoe continues to be tipped for a return to east London, with his rumoured wage demands taking centre-stage in a story in the Evening Standard and The Sun.
