Our daily look at the West Ham United stories making the news...

One name that has been linked with the Hammers repeatedly over the second half of the season is that of Jermain Defoe - and he crops up again in this latest Sky Sports rumour piece.

Both West Ham and Bournemouth are said to harbour an interest in the England striker, who spent time on loan at the Cherries while coming through at the Academy of Football early in his career.

Another rumour - this time from talkSPORT - links Switzerland international and former Arsenal defender Johan Djourou with a return to London with West Ham.

Djourou is coming to the end of his contract with Bundesliga side Hamburg and could move on in the summer.

Meanwhile, Hammers legend Tony Cottee's regular column in the Newham Recorder looks at the Club's striking options, saying the addition of another striker to complement Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho would be his priority.
