Youngster spotted at Foundation Soccer School joins up with pre-Academy

A talented young footballer has been given the opportunity of a lifetime after being spotted at a West Ham United Foundation soccer school.

The 4-year-old youngster (not pictured above) was snapped up and invited to attend the West Ham United Pre-Academy, where he has impressed enough to be offered further trials in the hope of being signed in their relevant age groups. The talented young player, who cannot be named due to their age, impressed during several sessions he’s attended with the Foundation over the last couple of years, held at the Foundation’s home in Beckton.

Jim Hampsheir, Senior Academy Integration Officer said: “We’re always looking for new players for both the Academy and pre-Academy, and so the Soccer Schools run by the Foundation over the school holidays are a vital part of that.

We noticed this particular young player and monitored him over a period of several months. He’s technically gifted, and has a really good attitude towards the game already for someone so young. He’s now playing in the year above at our pre-Academy, and if he keeps progressing at his current rate, there’s no reason he can’t go on to have a successful future.

We’ll continue to attend future courses, including throughout this summer, to try and find even more Future Irons!”
