We All Follow The West Ham!

A number of Algerian-Americans came to watch their hero Sofiane Feghouli training in North Carolina
As West Ham trained at their second US pre-season tour base – North Carolina – a number of Algerian-Americans came to meet their hero and new Hammer Sofiane Feghouli. Abbes Mansour was one of the supporters who made the trip…

Coming to watch West Ham train to meet our great Algerian player, Sofiane Feghouli, was brilliant. To us in Algeria, he is a midfielder like Iniesta – loved by everyone – and we wish him the best with the Hammers. We also hope for another European spot for West Ham United in the Premier League.

To me personally, Feghouli is more vital to the Algeria team than Riyad Mahrez, who had a great season with Leicester City as they won the league. That’s because he is a midfield player and everything comes through him, so he is very important to us. Hopefully he will prove me correct and do well at West Ham.

I looked at West Ham’s Facebook page recently, and thousands of people from Algeria all come to the site to support and wish Sofiane the best.
We were very, very happy and glad that West Ham made it to North Carolina. It’s very rare to see European players and teams over here, so to watch Feghouli and other Hammers players, like Andy Carroll, was amazing. We always see them on TV, but to see them within a yard of you was great.

Football is a very popular sport in Algeria. It’s the only thing some people look out for. We have about 3,000 Algerians over here in America, and they all love football too. I posted some pictures on Facebook of our visit to training, and about 300 comments were all wishing Sofiane well and West Ham the best.

Many others wanted to come up but it’s commitment and it’s the middle of the day and it’s hard for some of them to come out and watch. They will be there in the Stadium for the match against the RailHawks, however.

I think a lot of players are very good with the supporters in Algeria. They’re very nice and kind and they fully appreciate our support, and Sofiane did exactly that yesterday. We can’t wait to see him in action for the Hammers.
