From the Boardroom - David Gold

Joint-Chairman David Gold looks ahead to an exciting few weeks for the Club

The players are back for the start of pre-season training and like everyone I am extremely excited about the start of the new season.

This is one of the biggest in the Club's history and we are moving into a fabulous new Stadium and our new home.

We go there with a great season behind us and some exciting new players coming into the squad.

We have already signed Havard Nordtveit and Sofiane Feghouli and we must remember that Manuel Lanzini is a new signing as well as we have converted his loan into a permanent move.

We already have a strong squad and the young players coming through add even more quality.

We have Reece Burke back at the Club following his memorable loan spell at Bradford last season where he won seven awards.

He will be part of the team going to America and becomes a serious contender for a place in the first-team squad.

All the younger players who played in the Europa League last season have now got even more experience over the last 12 months and it looks very promising for the Club.

Players like Reece Oxford, Martin Samuelsen, Josh Cullen, Marcus Browne and Lewis Page will all have the chance to impress during the next few weeks.

We will also wait for more new signings to arrive before the transfer window closes at the end of August. There are still two months to go and I would urge all our fans not to get anxious.

We have already made three new signings and there are a few more to come.

We should all remain confident that the recruiting team headed by David Sullivan and Slaven Bilic will deliver once again with the players that we need.

The players are now heading off on tour to the USA where the fan base is growing all the time and it bodes well for the future of the football club.

I'm bombarded by fans sending me messages from America telling me they want to see West Ham in action and I am sure going to Seattle and North Carolina will only add to our fan base.

I was thrilled to see Mark Noble officially open the new Club Store last week at the new Stadium.

The new state-of-the-art store looks magnificent and will be open seven days a week as 1,200 new product lines will be available for sale.

I am sure all the West Ham fans have been very proud of what our players have been doing at the European Championship Finals.

I wish Dimitri Payet, James Collins and Angelo Ogbonna the best of luck in the knockout stages and they are flying the flag for West Ham.

It has been a disappointing week with England going out but we still have a big interest in what our players are doing.
