Hammers fans were out in force to quiz Joint-Chairman David Gold, Julian Dicks, James Collins and Sam Byram
Supporters turned out in force to quiz Joint-Chairman David Gold, coaching assistant Julian Dicks, James Collins and new boy Sam Byram at the Boleyn Ground on Tuesday.

Season Ticket Holders, Academy Members, Corporate Seasonal Members and those on the New Stadium Season Ticket Priority List enjoyed an audience with the Hammers quartet ahead of Saturday’s trip to St Mary’s.

Mr Gold, who repeatedly thanked the fans for their remarkable loyalty and support, fielded questions on the West Ham Way, the appointment of Slaven Bilic, his infamous ‘don’t go to bed’ tweet, prospective summer transfer dealings and, of course, the Hammers’ new home.

Legendary full-back Dicks had earlier joked about his occasional indiscretion on the football pitch, recounting the most memorable of his sendings off, and claimed he remains the Hammers’ best penalty taker!

The former No3 described the Hammers’ 2-2 draw against Manchester United as his single favourite outing at the Boleyn Ground, while Collins had to contend with the tricky business of looking ahead to Wales’ Euro 2016 showdown with England in the summer.

Thurrock-born Byram, meanwhile, discussed the reasons he chose West Ham above other Premier League clubs and reflected on his dramatic Barclays Premier League bow against Manchester City a fortnight ago.
