Go backstage with the Legends!

Have you ever wanted to go backstage at the Boleyn Ground on a match day?

Well, now you can!

In an exclusive competition reserved exclusively for West Ham United fans, the Club has teamed up with the organisers of the Monday 2 May clash between England and Germany Legends to give one lucky supporter VIP access all areas!

Across the day the fortunate winner will have chance to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience at the historic home of the Hammers – a home the Club will leave after 112 years next month.

The winner’s unique matchday will include the opportunity to:
  • Sit in on the team and briefings given by the managers to see and hear first-hand how a live match day evolves and is created.
  • Attend the production and crew meetings, go into the broadcast centre and see how it all gets made from the top of the show until the final credits roll.
  • Be a part of all the action from when the teams arrive until they go out onto the pitch, during the half-time break and at the end of the match.
  • Enjoy the action from the best seat in the house as you sit with the England squad – including former internationals Steve McManaman, Joe Cole, Sol Campbell, Dean Ashton, Trevor Sinclair, David Platt and David James – and hang out pitch-side with the event floor managers.
To be in with a chance of winning this once in a lifetime competition all you have to do is simply buy a ticket to the game. The winner will be chosen at random on Friday 29 April.

The aforementioned Legends will be joined by a host of familiar faces, including former West Ham midfielder John Moncur and comedians Lee Mack, Jack Whitehall, John Richardson and Russell Howard.

With West Ham fan Ray Winstone installed as coach, England Legends will have plenty of talent at their disposal. Winstone himself is expecting a competitive 90 minutes on the hallowed turf at his beloved Boleyn Ground.

“This is no laughing matter and we know that Michael Ballack is bringing a top team of World champions and European champions,” said the actor. “I've said to the lads ‘You think it's all over...well, it will be if you come into that dressing room at half-time and we are losing.

“The German team looks pretty formidable and fair play to the comics who are stepping up to wear the Three Lions and represent England on 2 May. They are all used to playing big stadiums but this is a different stage completely!”

As Winstone points out, his charges will not have things all their own way against a star-studded Germany squad.

Captained by former Chelsea and Germany midfielder Michael Ballack, the visitors will include legends of their own including former internationals Lothar Matthaus, Fredi Bobic, Mario Basler, Jens Nowotny and Guido Buchwald.

The Legends: England v Germany kicks-off at 4pm on Bank Holiday Monday 2 May at the Boleyn Ground. Tickets are available online here or by telephone on 0871 091 1811 (calls cost 10p/min plus network extras).
