Spartan Race coming to QEOP

Spartan Race, the world’s leading obstacle course race, and West Ham United are challenging supporters to take on this year’s obstacle course at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park will play host to the first race of 2016 from 8am to 5pm on Saturday 9 April, creating the perfect backdrop for competitors to push themselves to the limit.

And Hammers fans can take advantage of an exclusive 15 per cent discount on all registrations, simply by quoting the code ‘WHUFC’ when submitting a race entry via www.spartanraceuk.uk.

Peter Phillips, Operations Manager for Spartan UK, said: “Whether you want to get your adrenaline going before the Arsenal match, or want to keep it flowing afterwards, we would love to see you there.

“It's a great opportunity to challenge yourself, while enjoying a spectacular view of the Hammers' new home. Sign up today, and we look forward to seeing you there.”

Spartan Race has three options: a 5km ‘sprint’, a 13km ‘super’ and a 20km ‘beast’ course, which each include a series of obstacles designed to test competitor’s mental and physical strength.

For the devoted racers, completing all three distances in one season allows them a place in the coveted Spartan Trifecta Tribe.

Each Spartan Race will include a junior event (4 – 14 years of age), ranging from 0.75km to 2km in length, and featuring up to 14 intimidating obstacles to test the resolve of every youngster who thinks they are ready for the challenge.

Competitors can monitor their results on the Spartan database, as microchips tied to their shoelaces record times, allowing participants to improve on personal bests and track progress on a global rankings table.
