FT- Dev Squad 4-0 Wolves U21

FT: Dev Squad 4-0 Wolves U21

FT:
That's it! The final whistle goes and the Hammers have recorded their first win in convincing style. Enner Valencia opened the scoring on his return to action before goals from Manny Onariase, Marcus Browne and Martin Samuelsen completed the rout. Reaction to follow.

90: Parfitt-Williams is the latest Hammer to go close. He skins his man all ends up but his effort lacks any conviction.

88: Lee again the thick of things. All credit to Alex Pike who bursts forward and carries it 50 yards, he pulls it back to Lee whose effort falls narrowly wide of the far post.

86: Again the Hammers press, Lee plays in Dobson with a delightful chip, he tries to return the favour but it's cut out in the last minute.

85: Josh Cullen still tearing away at every ball, chasing everything in sight. He just doesn't give up, leading by example.

82: Reece Oxford is subtituted for Alex Pike, mking his first appearance since recovering from injury. Knoyle goes into the centre of defence with Pike in his familiar right-back slot.

79: What a superb goal that would've been. It started with Oxford at the back and finished with Lee dummying it which allowed Browne through on goal. He was stretching just as he connected and it fell inches wide.

75: The hosts are just taking the sting out of the game, controlling possession nicely. This game will go wonders for the their confidence with tough games with Fulham and Brighton on the horizon.

70: Three goals in 12 minutes! That's what I'm talking about! The young Hammers look hungry for more too. An excellent team performance all round.

65: GOAL! Martin Samuelsen! A second penalty to the Hammers as Samuelsen is fouled once more... they can't live with his trickery. He takes the spot kick himself and despatches it with real aplomb. 4-0.

61: Wolves respond by brining on Ryan Rainey for Naill Ennis, they certainly need to change something.

57: GOAL! That should seal the Hammers first win of the season! Martin Samuelsen is felled in the box and it's an easy decision for the referee to make. Elliot Lee steps up but Flatt makes the save, thankfully Marcus Browne is following up and rolls the ball home for his first goal for the U21s. 3-0.

53: GOAL! From the resulting corner Manny Onarise charges through the wrecking ball and bundles the ball over the line. 2-0!

52: Close! Marcus Browne goes mightily close to doubling the advantage. He controls Knoyle's hanging cross wonderfully before his poked effort is deflected and wide...

49: Just under 500 fans inside Rush Green tonight - a terrific showing for a Monday night! Don't forget the Dev Squad's next game - next Monday against Fulham - is at the Boleyn Ground and totally FREE.

46: We're back under way here at Rush Green. Pedro Obiang and Enner Valencia are replaced by Marcus Browne and George Dobson. Aaron Simpson comes on for Connor Ronan for the visitors.

45: Elliot Lee goes ever so close to doubling the lead with a superb free-kick which Flatt somehow managed to get hands too.

44: Another promising attacking move for the hosts as Knoyle breaks forward and sets Parfitt-Williams. The angle is against him but he strikes it well, Flatt makes a great save just as it looked like it was nestling in the top corner.

42: Wolves are making a change as the injured Aaron Hayden is replaced by Anthony Breslin.

40:
Fresh from scoring against Crystal Palace on the weekend Manuel Lanzini is watching the proceedings tonight. He just can't get enough of all things West Ham United!!

36: Wolves almost respond in kind as Eusebio Bancessi beats his man and cuts a lovely ball back, Naill Ennis has the goal at his mercy but he dallies on the ball and West Ham manage to clear it.

33: GOAL for West Ham! Enner Valencia! The Ecuadorean runs onto a lovely through-ball and makes no mistake with the finish as he pokes it past the onrushing Flatt. 1-0!

30: Excellent build up play from the Hammers. Cullen and Obiang are knocking around some lovely balls in the middle of the park, one of which finds Samuelsen who bursts into the box but is crowded out by orange shirts.

26: Valencia jinks his way past three defenders before unleashing a fierce shot from the edge of the box. He's looking hungry.

22: The Hammers go close from another corner as Oxford heads highest but can't direct it. Elliot Lee is quickest to react as he attempts a speculative overhead kick. It would have been phenomenal but it falls wide.

20: Onariase again goes close from another Cullen corner, Flatt makes another good save. End to end stuff so far...

17: Another free-kick to Wolves which Oxford heads away, Wolves recycle it by putting in another ball into the box which Spiegel rushes out to collect.

15: Free-kick to Wolves after Cullen is adjudged to have fouled his man - he can't believe it but the decision stands. The hosts work it out wide to left-back Ashley Carter but he puts too much on it and it goes out for a goalkick.

12: Josh Cullen sprays a Xabi Alonso-like cross field pass toward Kyle Knoyle who controls it majestically. He drills a cross into the six yard box sparking chaos in the Wolves' penalty box. Somehow, after four attempts the scramble the bll away. Pressure building.

8: Seconds later Elliot Lee heads goalward but he's flagged for offside.

7:
Enner Valencia is set free down the right-flank by a good ball from Djair Parfitt-Williams, he shoots forcefully and Jonathan Flatt does well to parry it for a corner. From the resultant cross, Manny Onariase rises highest and heads just wide.

5: Reece Oxford is captaining the side tonight, playing at centre-back, and is marshalling his troops. Constant dialogue from the youngster.

2: Early chance for Wolves as Connor Hunte drives at the defence before unleashing a shot toward Spiegel. The towering keeper gets down well to make the save look comfortable.

Kick Off: Here we go! The visitors Wolves get us under way, kicking right to left in the first half. We could be in for a cracker!

6.55pm: We're just moments away from kick off. Nicola Jurcevic, Milijenko Rak, and Julian Dicks are all in attendance tonight.

6.50pm: Good to see Enner Valencia back out warming up, based on his sharp shooting during the warm up he's raring to go! Top corner every time!

6.45pm: Just 15 minutes to go until kick off here at Rush Green, both teams are out warming up, plenty of intensity and concentration in the build up.

6.25pm:
Highly rated winger Martin Samuelsen is relishing his return to action in Claret and Blue tonight - he's scored three goals in his last four games for Club and Country. Read his thoughts here
